Christian Carlstedt
Born in Berlin, he graduated in musicology and German literature in his hometown. He worked as a dramaturg for opera and concerts in Würzburg and Mannheim before becoming Artistic Director of the Opera Company at Theater Freiburg. He later served as Director of Artistic Administration at Theater an der Wien and headed the Casting Office at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.
Since 2014, he has worked as a freelance Casting Consultant, among others for Theater Basel (2014–2020) and Staatsoper Hannover (2018–2025). He currently works for Komische Oper Berlin, Bühnen Bern, Stadttheater Klagenfurt, and the ZaterdagMatinee concerts at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam (Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra).
He is regularly invited as a jury member at international vocal competitions.
